About this role

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Data Analyst to support the United States Space Force by developing software for Space Systems Command Defensive Cyber Operations. This role focuses on rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect against ground and space-based cyber threats.

The ideal candidate will transform complex datasets into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing large datasets, developing dashboards, and tracking performance metrics for cross-functional cybersecurity and engineering teams.

The analyst will work closely with the Program Quality Manager to support quality assurance initiatives, KPI development, and continuous process improvement. The role collaborates with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and integrity across the organization.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to critical national security missions within the Space Force. The analyst will develop executive-level dashboards and reporting products to support program leadership decision-making, enabling career growth in defense cyber operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related analytical fields; OR Master's degree in a related discipline with 2–5 years of relevant experience
Strong experience with data visualization and dashboard development
Experience using Power BI, easyBI, Excel, or similar analytics platforms
Ability to analyze large datasets and communicate findings effectively
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Relevant DoD or industry work experience

Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, interpret, and validate large datasets from multiple structured and unstructured data sources
Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and integrity
Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, easyBI, and Excel Advanced Analytics
Identify trends, anomalies, correlations, and performance indicators to support data-driven decision-making
Translate business requirements into analytical models, reporting solutions, and actionable insights
Support KPI development, metrics tracking, and performance monitoring initiatives
Partner with the Program Quality Manager to support quality assurance reporting, audit readiness, compliance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
