Albuquerque, US · Full-time · $121,440 – $151,801

About this role

This role architects, deploys, and manages a hybrid cloud environment with a focus on operational excellence, security, and automation. You will be responsible for maintaining critical on-premises infrastructure while leading the strategic migration of workloads to AWS.

Day-to-day work involves designing and managing AWS cloud infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, databases, and security controls. You will also support on-premises VMware environments and plan migration strategies for moving applications and services to the cloud.

You will develop Infrastructure as Code templates using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, and support CI/CD pipelines to automate provisioning and deployment. Collaboration with peers to implement hybrid cloud integrations like VPNs, Direct Connect, and identity federation is a key part of the role.

This position offers the opportunity to drive cloud adoption following well-architected frameworks and compliance guidelines (NCUA, FFIEC, NIST). You will continuously evaluate emerging cloud technologies to improve system performance, cost efficiency, and security posture.

Requirements

  • Minimum four years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or systems administration in hybrid environments.
  • Practical experience designing and managing AWS infrastructure components such as EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
  • Proven success supporting and optimizing on-premises virtualization platforms (VMware preferred) and related infrastructure.
  • Led or contributed to structured on-premises-to-cloud workload migrations, applying best practices for data integrity and cost-efficiency.
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft 365 administration and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), including identity synchronization and security configuration.
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform strongly preferred) and modular, reusable templates.
  • Solid knowledge of modern CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, databases, and security controls.
  • Manage and support on-premises infrastructure, including VMware environments, Windows/Linux servers, and backup solutions.
  • Plan and execute migration strategies for moving applications, servers, and services from on-premises data centers to AWS.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and automation scripts using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Bicep/ARM templates.
  • Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate provisioning, deployment, and configuration of cloud and hybrid resources.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure services, including Entra ID (Azure AD) and identity synchronization.
  • Implement and maintain hybrid cloud integrations, including VPNs, Direct Connect, and secure networking.
  • Build and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions across both on-premises and cloud systems.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to drive cloud adoption following well-architected frameworks and security best practices.
  • Rotating on-call schedule with operational support for critical infrastructure incidents.
  • Access to emerging cloud and hybrid technologies for continuous system improvement.
  • Collaborative environment focused on operational excellence and automation.
