About this role

NOV is looking for a Software Developer to join the Zone Management Technology team in Digital Products & Automation. The team develops industrial software systems used on offshore drilling rigs worldwide, including the Red Zone Manager (RZM), Anti-Collision System (ACS), and Pipe Interlock Management (PIM) products.

You will primarily work with the Red Zone Manager (RZM), a rapidly growing product within NOV’s automation portfolio. RZM combines camera-based AI with industrial automation to detect personnel in hazardous areas and automatically stop machinery to help prevent incidents.

This is an opportunity to work on software systems operating in real-world industrial environments where performance, reliability and safety have direct operational impact. The work involves real-time data and machine integration in demanding offshore environments.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in software development with a strong focus on C++ or C#
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Relevant professional experience may compensate for formal education
  • Experience with industrial automation or PLC systems
  • Experience with real-time or distributed systems
  • Experience with computer vision or AI-integrated systems
  • Background in oil & gas or other industrial domains
  • Familiarity with offshore or safety-critical environments

  • Develop and maintain barrier systems for offshore drilling rigs
