About this role

Chevron is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 7-10 years of experience to drive enterprise data analytics, reporting, and low-code solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform and Azure ecosystem. This role is part of the Chevron Engineering and Innovation Excellence Center in Bengaluru, India.

Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and delivering enterprise dashboards and reports in Power BI, converting complex data into interactive visual insights for business stakeholders. You will develop scalable data models and datasets with DAX and Power Query, enabling real-time and self-service analytics capabilities across teams.

You will perform data integration, cleansing, and transformation using ETL/ELT processes, building robust data models that combine multiple sources like Azure, SQL, and APIs. The role also involves managing Power BI workspaces, datasets, and deployment pipelines, implementing Row-Level Security and access controls to ensure governance compliance.

Requirements

Power BI (Dashboard, DAX, Power Query), data modeling and data visualization
Dataverse and Power Apps, Power Automate (workflow automation)
SQL and relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and Azure data services
Enterprise analytics architecture design, performance tuning of reports and datasets
Data governance and security implementation, integration with APIs and external systems
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field
7-10 years of experience in data engineering with strong expertise in Power BI and Azure ecosystem

Responsibilities

Design and deliver enterprise dashboards and reports using Power BI, converting complex data into interactive visual insights for business stakeholders
Develop scalable data models and datasets (DAX, Power Query) enabling real-time and self-service analytics capabilities across teams
Perform data integration, cleansing, and transformation (ETL/ELT), building robust data models combining multiple sources (Azure, SQL, APIs)
Implement performance optimization strategies for large-scale analytics, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and governance compliance
Manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, and deployment pipelines, implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and access controls
Design and develop applications using Power Apps and Dataverse, building business workflows using Power Automate
Integrate low-code solutions with enterprise systems and APIs, supporting lifecycle management and deployment across environments
Design data pipelines using Azure SQL, Data Lake, Synapse, Fabric, or Data Factory, enabling cloud-native, scalable, and secure data architectures
