About this role

SLB's Cyber Security team is seeking an Associate Cyber Security Engineer to join their operations in Coimbatore or Pune, India. This role focuses on protecting the organization's data, systems, and networks through proactive security measures and continuous monitoring.

Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring and upgrading security controls, testing network and system vulnerabilities, and assessing digital infrastructure for potential threats. The engineer will also evaluate the organization's security needs and help establish best practices and standards accordingly.

Working within a collaborative global cyber security team, the engineer will take an active role in the change management process to ensure security is embedded in all system updates. The team values thorough vulnerability assessments and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in enterprise security operations while contributing to the protection of critical infrastructure. The role provides hands-on experience with security tools and processes in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Requirements

Understanding of cyber security principles and best practices
Familiarity with network security, vulnerability assessment, and security monitoring tools
Ability to assess and identify security vulnerabilities in digital infrastructures
Knowledge of security controls and their implementation
Analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating security needs
Experience with change management processes in a security context

Responsibilities

Monitor and upgrade security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks
Ensure that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling appropriate security controls
Assess digital infrastructures for security vulnerabilities that may affect the security plan and pose potential threats
Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities
Evaluate the organization's security needs and establish best practices and standards accordingly
Conduct testing and scans to identify any vulnerabilities in the network and system
Take an active role in the change management process
