The Lead UX/UI designer defines, leads, and delivers high quality user experiences across digital tools and platforms that support business objectives and user needs. This role translates UX/UI strategy into effective design execution and drives end-to-end experience delivery. It ensures consistency, usability, accessibility, and compliance with AIA Group Design Standards.

Acting as a trusted design partner to business stakeholders and technology teams, the Lead UX/UI designer champions user-centered design through research-driven insights, stakeholder collaboration, and measurable outcomes. The role involves mentoring UX designers to uplift design quality and delivery excellence. It influences product strategy with user insights early in planning cycles.

Daily work spans design leadership, end-to-end delivery, user research, and collaboration. Conduct interviews, usability testing, surveys, and competitor benchmarking in the insurance sector. Proactively identify UX/UI issues, iterate designs, and facilitate workshops for shared understanding.

Requirements

  • Expertise in translating user needs and business requirements into intuitive and effective design solutions
  • Proficiency in user research synthesis to inform actionable design recommendations and improve user satisfaction
  • Experience reviewing and guiding design work for consistency, usability, and adherence to design standards
  • Strong skills in producing clear design documentation for development handover
  • Ability to monitor competitor UX/UI strategies in the insurance sector through benchmarking
  • Demonstrated leadership in end-to-end UX/UI design delivery and stakeholder collaboration
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and regulatory compliance for digital platforms

Responsibilities

  • Define and articulate digital tool strategy, socializing it with key stakeholders for buy-in and alignment
  • Influence product strategy by contributing user insights and design recommendations early in planning and prioritization cycles
  • Lead end-to-end UX/UI design across research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, design handover and design QA
  • Plan and conduct user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, and surveys
  • Coach and mentor offshore junior designers through constructive feedback, design critiques, and capability development
  • Ensure digital experiences are consistent, accessible, and aligned with AIA Group Design Standards while meeting local regulatory compliance
  • Facilitate workshops and design discussions with business stakeholders, project managers and tech leads
