About this role

Harrods is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support our Digital Technology Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the support and overall service of all production and non-production applications and environments across our ecommerce and digital estate.

You will own and maintain the deployment pipelines, ensure operational excellence, and partner closely with development, the wider IT team, and third-party providers. The role balances hands-on operational responsibilities with strategic improvements, ensuring monitoring, security, and performance are embedded into every solution.

Working as part of the DevOps team, you will mentor peers, promote best practices, and drive continuous optimisation across platforms and processes. You will need to keep calm under pressure and work at a pace that balances operational elements while looking ahead.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in Azure cloud and Azure DevOps deploying highly available, scalable, and resilient applications and infrastructure
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines deploying scalable web and mobile applications in the cloud
  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting business-critical applications such as web and mobile apps using logs, application monitoring, and synthetic monitoring
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and C#
  • Experience with ITSM tool, ITIL, and ISO 27001
  • Experience deploying infrastructure as code (Pulumi preferred)
  • Experience in containerisation technology (e.g. Docker, AKS)
  • Experience with database technologies including MS SQL and Cosmos DB

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain all production and non-production applications and environments across the ecommerce and digital estate
  • Own and maintain deployment pipelines to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable digital services
  • Ensure monitoring, security, and performance implications are considered and correct measures are in place to detect problems early
  • Identify proactive measures to preventatively optimise and continuously improve solutions
  • Mentor peers and promote best practices across platforms and processes
  • Partner closely with development, the wider IT team, and third-party providers
  • Drive continuous optimisation across platforms and processes
