About this role

Dark Wolf Solutions is looking for a Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services for high availability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform, and will work on hosting DevSecOps services and mission applications.

Key responsibilities include deploying and maintaining common Kubernetes platform services on cloud-native architecture. The engineer will integrate the platform with enterprise services to satisfy organizational security requirements and implement secure automation, monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code. They will also support CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.

This role is based in Northern Virginia with 50% on-site capability in Falls Church, VA. The engineer will work alongside a cross-functional engineering team focused on the latest technologies and best practices. Collaboration includes defining and building cloud infrastructure for DevSecOps development services and mission applications within a Kubernetes platform.

The position offers the opportunity to develop and iterate best practices to increase deployment quality and velocity. The engineer will implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management. This role supports critical DoD cybersecurity requirements and requires an active Secret clearance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working with commercial cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience designing and deploying self-managed Kubernetes to commercial cloud platforms.
  • Experience integrating and providing cloud platform services within a Kubernetes cluster.
  • Experience designing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools and processes such as GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Snyk.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps processes, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Local to Falls Church, VA and willing to go onsite approximately 4-5 days per month (otherwise remote working is allowed).
  • US Citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Deploying and maintaining common Kubernetes platform services on cloud-native architecture.
  • Integrating a Kubernetes platform with common enterprise services to satisfy organizational security requirements.
  • Implementing secure automation, effective monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Deploying and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines across multiple environments.
  • Supporting and working alongside a cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies.
  • Developing and iterating best practices to increase the quality and velocity of deployments.
  • Implementing industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.
