PXT Central Science is seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to join the team. The role involves translating complex business challenges into rigorous quantitative frameworks. Candidates extract actionable insights from structured and unstructured datasets to elevate experiences for over one million employees worldwide.

Daily responsibilities center on owning the design and development of scalable models using statistical, machine learning, or GenAI methodologies. You will partner with scientists and engineers to solve employee experience defects through scientific approaches that deliver measurable impact.

The Central Science Team applies economics, behavioral science, statistics, machine learning, and Generative AI to identify process improvements. This interdisciplinary group combines science, engineering, and UX talents to enhance both Amazon operations and employee well-being simultaneously.

Team members stay current with emerging methods and technologies to amplify overall impact. The position offers opportunities to architect science-backed solutions that support Amazon's mission of becoming Earth's Best Employer.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
  • 2+ years of data/research scientist, statistician or quantitative analyst in an internet-based company with complex and big data sources experience
  • 1+ years of creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers, or educational content experience
  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or experience working in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable models and prototypes leveraging statistical, machine learning, or GenAI methodologies to enhance employee experience.
  • Partner with scientists, engineers, and product leaders to solve for employee experience defects using scientific approaches, building new services and tools that deliver measurable impact.
  • Author and maintain detailed technical documentation related to the projects you drive.
  • Communicate results to diverse audiences of varying technical background with effective writing, visualizations, and presentations.
  • Stay current with emerging methods and technologies, and implement them strategically to amplify the team’s impact.
