About this role

This Lead DevOps Engineer role is responsible for managing and executing software and platform releases across the UK region. The position coordinates with the Centralised Release Management team and ensures smooth deployment through sanity testing and documentation. It also involves frontline production support and maintaining release traceability.

Day-to-day activities include leading the regional execution of all release types through automated CI/CD pipelines. The engineer coordinates with Global Platform testers for post-deployment validation and manages the full CAB ticket lifecycle. They also oversee Kanban workflows and track progress to drive continuous improvement.

This role acts as a bridge between regional and global teams, facilitating cross-functional coordination of development and change activities. Effective communication with development and QA teams ensures visibility and alignment throughout the release cycle. The engineer also provides technical leadership for operational management of Global Business Platforms.

The position offers the opportunity to champion continuous improvement by analysing release outcomes and implementing process enhancements. It also involves producing reports on platform availability and capacity to support data-driven decision-making. Participation in a 24x7 out-of-hours support rota provides exposure to critical incident management.

Requirements

Experience leading regional execution of software releases through automated CI/CD pipelines.
Strong knowledge of change management processes, including CAB ticket lifecycle and deployment traceability.
Proficiency in managing Kanban workflows and driving continuous process improvement.
Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams (development, QA, global platform testers) for release validation.
Experience with incident management, monitoring, and escalation in a 24x7 support environment.
Analytical skills to produce and interpret reports on platform availability, performance, and capacity.
Excellent communication skills for transparent release status reporting and stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

Lead regional execution of all release types (major, minor, emergency) through automated CI/CD pipelines.
Coordinate with Global Platform testers for post-deployment validation and issue resolution.
Manage CAB ticket lifecycle and maintain deployment traceability and compliance.
Oversee Kanban workflows and drive continuous improvement of release processes.
Facilitate cross-functional coordination between development, QA, and global teams.
Provide technical leadership for operational management, ensuring compliance with SLAs, SLOs, and RTOs.
Oversee incident management, monitoring, and escalation processes, including participation in 24x7 out-of-hours support rota.
Produce and analyze reports on platform availability, performance, and capacity.
