About this role

Actian, a division of HCLSoftware, is a leader in data intelligence with high-performance database technologies like Ingres, Vector, and Zen. This Senior Infrastructure Engineer role supports and operates a hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises datacenters, global office locations, and multiple public cloud environments.

Daily responsibilities include administering Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy, and supporting cloud workloads across GCP, Azure, and AWS. They also support enterprise networking with Cisco and Meraki, manage identity platforms like Active Directory and Okta, and administer endpoint management systems including Jamf and Microsoft Intune.

They partner closely with Infrastructure Architecture and Security teams to drive operational excellence and maintain a strong security posture. The role ensures high availability, resilience, and performance of critical infrastructure services across hybrid environments, implementing secure authentication controls aligned with Zero Trust principles.

This position contributes to cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, collaborating with architecture teams on future infrastructure strategies. Working with cutting-edge database technologies and modern hybrid infrastructure offers substantial growth in a mission-critical team. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with a hands-on operational mindset.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware, Proxmox, or equivalent hypervisors.
  • Proven experience with public cloud platforms: Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco networking, including routing, switching, and Cisco Meraki management.
  • Skilled in identity and access management with Active Directory and Okta, including authentication, federation, and SSO.
  • Experience with endpoint management solutions like Jamf and Microsoft Intune.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices, Zero Trust principles, and SIEM integration.
  • A hands-on operational mindset with the ability to work across systems, networking, cloud, identity, endpoint management, and security domains.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related infrastructure services.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot workloads across Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services.
  • Support Cisco datacenter networking environments, including routing, switching, and core network services, and administer Cisco Meraki infrastructure.
  • Manage identity platforms including Active Directory and Okta, supporting authentication, federation, SSO integrations, and identity lifecycle management.
  • Administer enterprise endpoint management platforms including Jamf and Microsoft Intune, managing device enrollment, configuration policies, and compliance standards.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across systems, networks, and cloud environments, and manage integrations with SIEM and security monitoring platforms.
  • Manage secure connectivity and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and public cloud environments.
  • Ensure high availability and resilience of critical infrastructure systems through server lifecycle operations, patching, monitoring, and performance optimization.
