HHAeXchange is one of the healthcare industry’s fastest-growing healthcare software solution providers. Founded by professionals with deep experience in software development and healthcare, the company supports post-acute payers and providers. We are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to join the R&D organization.

This role owns engineering delivery, maintenance, and production operations for the HHAeXchange Enterprise platform and Sandata SaaS solutions. The Director ensures teams execute consistently on quality, security, performance, reliability, and operational excellence. Close partnership with Product, Architecture, QA, and Operations leadership is required.

The position provides leadership across multiple engineering teams including managers, tech leads, and individual contributors. Responsibilities include driving predictable delivery, coaching leaders, and advancing cloud-native principles. Modernization efforts focus on architectural improvements and technical debt reduction.

This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates located in the EST or CST time zones within the US only. The Director will drive adoption of AI-enabled capabilities and AI-assisted SDLC tools while maintaining strong standards for quality and reliability.

Requirements

Experience leading multiple engineering teams through planning, prioritization, and execution discipline.
Strong background in cloud-native principles and best practices for SaaS platform development.
Ability to partner with architecture leadership to ensure system designs meet enterprise standards.
Track record of establishing standards for deployment quality, rollback readiness, and production readiness.
Experience driving AI use cases that improve operational efficiency, compliance, and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

Own engineering delivery, maintenance, and production operations responsibilities for assigned areas across the HHAeXchange SaaS platforms.
Deliver new features and optimize existing components with focus on code quality, scalability, performance, security, stability, and maintainability.
Ensure effective incident response, troubleshooting, and operational execution for production systems.
Provide leadership across multiple engineering teams, including engineering managers, tech leads, and individual contributors.
Drive modernization and platform evolution, including cloud and architectural improvements.
Lead engineering governance and operational readiness, ensuring consistency and quality across releases.
Drive development and adoption of AI-enabled capabilities across the HHAeXchange SaaS platforms.
Lead adoption of AI-assisted SDLC tools and practices to improve engineering velocity and effectiveness.
