About this role

As a Stream Lead in Full Stack Engineering at SMBC's Singapore office, you'll combine hands-on technical leadership with people management to drive digital banking transformation in Asia Pacific. You'll partner with onshore and offshore delivery teams to deliver enterprise-scale banking solutions. You'll also build strong relationships with product management, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.

You'll mentor and develop a strong engineering team, fostering technical growth and career progression. You'll partner with the Engineering Head on hiring decisions and talent development strategies, shaping the future of the engineering organization. Requirements

High proficiency in full stack development technologies (e.g., Java, Python, React, Node.js).
Deep experience with cloud-native architecture and services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Strong understanding of microservices, containerization, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proven ability to lead solution design and architecture reviews for enterprise-scale systems.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Strong people management and mentorship skills for engineering teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and ability to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
Familiarity with banking or financial services domain is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain significant hands-on involvement in development (50-70% coding), focusing on critical features and complex technical challenges.
Lead solution design for major initiatives, ensuring architectural consistency across deliverables.
Champion engineering best practices including code reviews, testing standards, and comprehensive documentation.
Design cloud-native solutions balancing immediate needs with long-term platform flexibility and scalability.
Manage and mentor an expert engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Own delivery timelines and quality for multiple concurrent projects across your team.
Remove blockers and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery.
Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and communicate trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
