Join Canva's Configuration team as a Senior Software Engineer and help redefine how the world experiences design through robust infrastructure. The role centers on shipping configurations safely to any workload across the platform while shaping next-generation tooling.

Day-to-day work involves leading builds that enhance configuration infrastructure and codifying technical knowledge via documentation and presentations. You will identify gaps, lift team capabilities, and implement solutions drawn from technical specifications.

The Configuration team formed at the end of 2025 and has already delivered key infrastructure goals. Its vision is to enable fast, safe configuration changes that form the foundation of every technical endeavor at Canva.

You will collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams while enjoying choice in where and how you work from Canva's Sydney campus or other Australian locations. Equity, wellbeing allowances, and flexible leave support long-term growth and impact.

Requirements

Strong experience with Golang; coding interviews conducted in Golang or Python.
Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and developer tooling.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and the overall SDLC.
Ability to implement solutions from technical specifications and collaborate effectively with engineers.
Strong communication skills with the ability to document technical work clearly.

Responsibilities

Help redefine how configurations are shipped to any workload within Canva.
Lead the effort in building and enhancing configuration infrastructure.
Codify and share technical knowledge through documentation and presentations.
Provide technical expertise by identifying knowledge gaps and lifting team capabilities.
Implement solutions from technical specifications in collaboration with other engineers.
Design and deliver configuration tooling that enables seamless integration across all workloads.
