About this role

This position serves as the Digital Forensics Analyst Technical Lead for the MCI facility at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The role manages the Digital Forensics Lab (DFL), including configuration, installation, and operations of existing forensics hardware and software. It acts as the primary assistant to Law Enforcement partnered agencies in conducting digital forensics analysis.

The individual coordinates between agency partners, handles on-site development, implementation, quality assurance, and management of the DFL environment and systems. Responsibilities include assessing and developing policies and procedures governing the MCI DFL. The candidate assists the site's senior technical advisor in gathering data analytics, contract, and budget activities related to the DFL.

Manage DFL operations with the Department of Public Safety and other partnered Law Enforcement agencies. Effectively lead LE partners in utilizing the lab's forensics networked capabilities through technical support. May be responsible for training, assisting, or assigning tasks to others and providing input to performance reviews.

Perform assessments with users in analyzing deficiencies in tested forensics tools and provide risk assessments of unresolved anomalies. Assist in forensic analysis techniques including traditional disk image analysis, memory analysis, malware analysis, and static/dynamic reverse engineering. Work in an environment of rapidly changing technology and requirements in support of the MCI partner's mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Five+ years directly related to duties and responsibilities specified
  • U.S. citizenship required due to co-op with military partners
  • Experienced with Cyber/Digital Forensics tools including e-discovery and forensic imaging tools and techniques
  • Experienced with COTS forensics products including EnCase, SIFT, X-Ways, FTK, Magnet Forensics (Axiom, Automate, Graykey), and Cellebrite
  • Understand systems engineering and computing platforms including Windows, OSX, and Linux
  • Ability to work in time-sensitive and stressful situations with ease and professionalism

Responsibilities
