Day-to-day, you will focus on monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting in production, using tools like Splunk, DataDog, and ServiceNow to reduce unactionable alerts and develop severity classes and playbooks.

Requirements
- Extensive experience with monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting in production
- Proficiency with Splunk, DataDog, ServiceNow (or equivalent tools)
- Experience reducing unactionable alerts and remediating noisy alerts
- Experience developing severity classes and alert playbooks
- Extensive experience with various tools within AWS
- Openness to change and patience with a highly regulated industry such as banking and payments
- Delivery-focused mindset with prior experience in the specific requirements listed
Responsibilities
- Monitor, alert, and troubleshoot production systems extensively
- Use tools like Splunk, DataDog, and ServiceNow to manage observability
- Reduce unactionable alerts from an observed 50% no-action rate
- Remediate noisy alerts to improve signal-to-noise ratio
- Develop severity classes and alert playbooks for incident response
- Leverage extensive AWS tooling to support cloud infrastructure
- Participate in a large-scale cloud transformation for a financial services client
