About this role
As Senior Data Engineer at Bankdata, become a key player in developing a new common Databricks data platform supporting seven financial institutions. Work with modern cloud technology, data architecture, and governance to enable large-scale data usage across organizations. Shape the foundation for the future data-driven financial sector.
Design and develop scalable, secure data platform ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and ready for analytics and AI. Handle data pipelines, ETL processes, cloud architecture in Azure/AWS, and Databricks implementations. Establish data governance for quality, compliance, and access control while optimizing performance.
Join Data Platforms & Analytics team with four developers and a Product Owner. Work agile in 2-week SCRUM sprints, hybrid between Aarhus and Fredericia with high flexibility for home office. Collaborate closely with data scientists, business, IT, and customers from financial institutions.
In first 6-12 months, take responsibility for Databricks setup, mentor colleagues on best practices, build stakeholder relations, ensure solution quality, and coordinate data governance. Gain significant influence on solutions and direction. Build something unique—a shared platform uniting multiple banks.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years experience with data engineering, including data pipelines, ETL, and data integration
- Practical experience with Databricks and cloud platforms like Azure or AWS
- Experience working with data governance, CI/CD, and preferably infrastructure as code
- Experience with data architecture and practical implementation
- Experienced collaborator who can communicate complex solutions simply
Responsibilities
- Design and develop data pipelines and ETL processes ensuring efficient and secure data integration
- Work with cloud architecture in Azure/AWS and implement solutions in Databricks
- Establish and further develop data governance structures focusing on quality, compliance, and access control
- Optimize platform performance and ensure stable operations
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders
- Take responsibility for setup and development of the Databricks platform
- Spar and train colleagues in best practices and technology choices
- Coordinate and inspire work on data governance and data lifecycle
