About this role

Sia, an international next-generation management consulting group founded in 1999, is seeking a Platform Engineer (DevOps) intern to support the growth of its Data Science Business Unit. As an intern, you will participate in Data Science missions at client sites, working alongside Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers on data-intensive projects. Your focus will be on technical challenges around automation, distributed computing systems, cloud services, and the deployment and maintenance of production services.

You will actively contribute to technology, architecture, and governance decisions to address the scaling challenges of data projects. The work covers cloud services architecture and cost optimization, containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes, Python-based server-side tool development, and CI/CD pipeline management for data applications.

This internship offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in DevOps culture, with a strong emphasis on automating everything and a do-it-yourself mindset for learning new technologies. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and platforms in a collaborative, client-facing environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering school or a high-level IT training program, seeking a final-year internship
  • Ideally has a first experience in DevOps, Cloud, Software, or Data Engineering
  • Good level of Python, enabling contribution to backend projects
  • Mastery of a containerization solution such as Docker
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment techniques and tools
  • Comfortable using Docker and automating CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong appetite for building skills in Kubernetes, even without prior experience

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Data Science missions at client sites alongside Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers
  • Contribute to technical challenges around automation, distributed computing systems, and cloud services
  • Support the deployment and maintenance of production services for data projects
  • Contribute to technology, architecture, and governance decisions for scaling data projects
  • Work on cloud services architecture, storage and compute usage, cost monitoring, and access management
  • Containerize and orchestrate applications, managing Kubernetes clusters for data workloads
  • Develop server-side tools in Python, including automation scripts and microservices
  • Manage continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines for data-centric applications
