About this role

Sun Life is looking for a Senior UX Designer (D2C) to join our Experience Design (XD) team. You will take ownership in driving UX strategy, leveraging strong perspectives on design excellence to influence project direction. Champion human-centered design practices across the organization.

You will collaborate with product owners, engineers, other experience design professionals, and key business partners. Deliver meaningful data-driven design solutions that enhance D2C digital product offerings. Create best-in-class digital experiences based on client, business, and technical inputs.

Work with dynamic colleagues who are experts in their fields, eager to share knowledge. Actively collaborate as part of a cross-functional agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately. Leaders will inspire and help you reach your potential.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in user-centered digital design and user experience
Strong digital commerce experience working in a client acquisition based funnel (D2C)
University degree or certification in User Experience, or equivalent work experience
UX portfolio demonstrating impactful customer experiences, including developing digital products from concept to implementation
Strong UI / visual design acumen with ability to create visually appealing and intuitive interfaces
Demonstrated experience with user research methods such as A/B concept and usability testing
Proficiency with current design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Jira
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., AODA, WCAG) and inclusive design practices

Responsibilities

Take ownership to influence project strategy and evangelize UX practices across the company
Lead the production of design specs and other documentation within project timelines
Create best-in-class digital experiences based on client, business and technical inputs across platforms, devices and channels
Develop new concepts, storyboards, screen flows, detailed designs and interactive prototypes
Lead the analysis and integration of user data and research findings to inform design decisions
Conduct market scans to identify trends and best practices in digital product design
Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions
Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance design processes and drive innovation
