About this role

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Software Engineer to own front-end delivery for UTSW Developed Software user experiences. The role centers on implementing secure, accessible, high-performing interfaces that support faculty, Innovation Hub staff, and approved external stakeholders.

Daily work involves building front-end features with React and TypeScript. This includes complex workflows such as multi-step wizards, dashboards, and data-room style views while maintaining strong attention to accessibility and usability standards.

The position partners closely with Product and Design teams to translate requirements into polished interfaces. Work occurs within an enterprise environment that emphasizes RBAC-aware UI patterns and role-based navigation for approved users.

Engineers contribute to Azure-hosted front-end deployments and CI/CD pipelines. The setting offers opportunities to advance skills in modern web application development at a leading academic medical center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4 years of professional front-end engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and front-end testing practices.
  • Experience building modern web applications with attention to accessibility and usability.
  • Experience with enterprise UI patterns (RBAC-aware UI, role-based navigation).
  • Familiarity with Azure-hosted front-end deployments and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Owns front-end delivery for UTSW Developed Software user experiences.
  • Implements front-end features using React + TypeScript, including complex workflows such as multi-step wizards, dashboards, and data-room style views.
  • Partners with Product and Design to translate requirements into interfaces.
  • Builds secure, accessible, high-performing interfaces for faculty, Innovation Hub staff, and approved external stakeholders.
  • Applies enterprise UI patterns including RBAC-aware UI and role-based navigation.
  • Supports Azure-hosted front-end deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
