Our Data Services Pillar builds seamless, enterprise-grade experiences for data engineering, warehousing, streaming, operational databases, and AI. Cloudera seeks an experienced Principal Product Manager for the mission-critical Cloudera Data Warehouse (CDW) service. This individual contributor role owns the cloud-native data warehouse.

You will drive deep technical integration of Apache Iceberg with Apache Hive and Apache Impala virtual warehouses, orchestrated via Kubernetes across public and private clouds. Lead evolution toward modern data lakehouse architecture using CDW’s decoupled design—Control Plane, Catalogs, and Virtual Warehouses. Deliver scalability, workload isolation, and automated optimization for enterprise ELT/ETL workflows.

This highly technical role requires strong product vision, Kubernetes expertise, and passion for simplifying complex systems. Work in the heart of data innovation with global enterprise users. Collaborate across engineering, field, customers, and partners to shape the future of data services.

Requirements

Strong product vision for data warehouse services
Kubernetes expertise for cloud-native orchestration
Deep knowledge of Apache Hive and Apache Impala SQL engines
Experience with Apache Iceberg for data lakehouse features like schema evolution and time travel
Understanding of decoupled data warehouse architecture with Control Plane, Catalogs, and Virtual Warehouses
Ability to simplify complex systems for enterprise users
Familiarity with hybrid multi-cloud environments
Skill in authoring Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), epics, and detailed specifications

Responsibilities

Articulate and own the strategic direction for core SQL engines Apache Hive and Apache Impala in Cloudera Data Warehouse (CDW) service
Develop and maintain a prioritized product roadmap aligned with product strategy
Prioritize and define features for Apache Iceberg integration enabling data lakehouse capabilities like schema evolution and time travel across Hive and Impala
Direct the Kubernetes roadmap for elasticity, cost optimization, and automated resource management across hybrid cloud
Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape and identify opportunities
Define product for consistent experience across public clouds and private cloud/on-premises deployments
Drive product launches by collaborating with Marketing, Sales, and Documentation teams
Define and track KPIs for CDW service success including adoption and revenue
