About this role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer who is passionate about building scalable systems and designing efficient APIs for a high-traffic marketplace. You will be the architect behind the core systems that power teleconsultations and logistics of shipping products across India.

In your day-to-day, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices, build and optimize RESTful APIs, and work on systems integrating teleconsultations, logistics, databases, caching, and third-party APIs. You will write clean, modular, and maintainable code using modern backend technologies.

You will partner with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to ship reliable features and maintain an API-first architecture. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values ownership and problem-solving, comfortable in a high-growth startup environment where speed and quality are prioritized.

Requirements

1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in backend development within a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, databases, caching, and asynchronous processing.
Experience building scalable backend services, distributed systems, and a solid grasp of microservices.
Ability to take end-to-end ownership of backend features from design to deployment.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a hawk-eye for detail.
Comfortable working in a high-growth startup environment where speed and quality are prioritized.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices that power our eCommerce operations.
Build and optimize RESTful APIs for high-performance applications, ensuring smooth browsing for users.
Work on systems powering teleconsultations, logistics workflows, and integration with databases, caching systems, and third-party APIs.
Write clean, modular, and maintainable code using modern backend technologies.
Ensure performance, scalability, and security across backend systems to support a high-scale Telehealth and Rx-grade marketplace.
Partner with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to ship reliable features and maintain our API-first architecture.
Debug production issues and continuously improve system reliability through logs, APM, and metrics.
