About this role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join Bolt's Financial Automation team and build scalable systems that automate critical financial processes powering Bolt's global operations. You will have the opportunity to design and build the core platforms behind fiscalization, e-invoicing, and other financial flows.

Financial Automation is a newly formed team within the Revenue Assurance group. As a founding member you will architect and launch backend platforms that power Bolt's financial automation using Node.js and TypeScript. You will build integrations with existing services and third-party APIs while ensuring data completeness and regulatory compliance.

The role sits at the intersection of engineering, finance, and commercial operations. You will partner closely with Finance, Commerce, and Product stakeholders to translate complex regulatory needs into reliable automations that directly impact Bolt's global financial operations across markets.

Product-oriented thinking is deeply ingrained in the engineering approach. You will help set technical direction for a new domain, establish engineering standards aligned with ITGC and DORA requirements, and lead features from idea to execution while sharing knowledge through tech talks.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs.
  • Ability to work with financial processes, regulatory compliance, and data quality requirements.
  • Strong skills in architecting reliable platforms and integrations with third-party services.
  • Product-oriented mindset with experience leading initiatives end-to-end.
  • Willingness to learn Node.js and TypeScript if not already familiar.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable core platforms for financial flows ensuring data completeness, consistency, quality and compliance across regions.
  • Build integrations with Bolt's existing backend services and various third-party tools and APIs.
  • Set the technical direction for the new domain and establish engineering standards aligned with ITGC and DORA requirements.
  • Partner with Finance, Commerce, and Product stakeholders to translate complex regulatory and operational needs into reliable automations.
  • Lead features and initiatives from idea to positive execution.
  • Share knowledge by giving tech talks and promoting engineering best practices.
