Midi Health is the largest virtual care clinic for women in midlife navigating perimenopause, menopause, and other hormonal transitions. We combine expert clinicians, evidence-based protocols, and a modern technology platform to deliver underserved care. As a Senior Software Engineer in Platform Engineering, you'll build core services, shared libraries, infrastructure, and developer tooling that scales reliably and securely.

You'll build and own core platform services like authentication, authorization, notifications, jobs/queues, and feature flags that product teams reuse. Design developer productivity tooling including local dev environments, CI/CD, preview environments, and internal CLIs to make the right way the easy way. Operate cloud infrastructure and drive improvements in reliability, observability, performance, cost, security, and compliance in a HIPAA environment.

Hybrid by design with two days a week in-office Tuesday and Thursday in Palo Alto or San Francisco to build high-trust teams scaled remotely. AI-native engineering expects fluency with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot to push software building frontiers. Partner with product engineers to unblock them, shape technical direction, and turn incidents into durable improvements. Own on-call practices while using AI tools actively across services, infrastructure-as-code, and daily engineering.

Requirements

6+ years of experience building production services and/or infrastructure at scale
Strong hands-on coding skills in Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar to ship real services and tools
Seasoned at system design with deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, networking, storage, and cloud primitives (AWS/GCP)
Fluent with modern platform tooling including Terraform/IaC, Kubernetes or equivalent, observability stacks (Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry), CI/CD
Product mindset toward internal users treating product engineers as customers and measuring success by faster, safer shipping
Solid command of AI coding tools and comfortable adopting team workflows
Good mentorship instincts to bring product engineers along on platform decisions
Strong communicator who can explain tradeoffs to non-platform audiences

Responsibilities

Build and own core platform services including authentication, authorization, notifications, jobs/queues, feature flags, and shared building blocks product teams reuse
Build developer productivity tooling such as local dev environments, test infrastructure, CI/CD, preview environments, internal CLIs, and paved paths
Design and operate the cloud infrastructure and deployment platform product teams build on
Drive improvements in reliability, observability, performance, and cost
Harden security and compliance posture in a HIPAA environment including encryption, access controls, audit, and incident response
Own on-call and incident response practices and turn incidents into durable improvements
Partner with product engineers to unblock them and shape technical direction across services
Use AI tools actively across services, infrastructure-as-code, tooling, and day-to-day engineering
